Improving your verbal communication, while capturing the moment of clarity.

Often as I am driving from or to work, I experience small burst of clarity for existing problems or perspectives.  You probably get this too, when you are in the zone. Its your unconscious mind sputtering processed responses. These responses are often worth recording. In my case, its hard (and unlawful) to text and drive, thus I been using voice mails to leave my self messages with raw thoughts. With this trick, besides capturing the essential thoughts with their emotions and tone intact, you can accomplish more then just recording of your notes.

The amount of small bursts of clarity should continue to increase, because clearing out the active thoughts from your brain, by turning them into a verbal to do list, will create more and more room for additional thoughts to be processed. Another side effect of turning mental todo list into tangible todo list is that it will greatly reducing the amount of stress related to those tasks. Your brain will also get instant gratification from this temporary accomplishment and reduce stress further.

While reviewing the voice mails on free time, you might realized your verbal self-image is not quite what you thought it was. Getting a chance to evaluate your self in this way, will dramatically decrease your speech disfluencies.

In the exercise of turning your own verbal messages into a transcription, you will realize the pains that others go through, when taking written notes from your verbal communication. To reduce this pain, its very important to talk slow and talk less. Talking more or talking fast, just dilutes, distracts and detaches the conversation from its intention by turning it into fluff.
